FAQ's

Hi there! Welcome to our Frequently Asked Question's page. Here we hope to answer all of your questions. If your question is still unanswered, just send us an email at marjiew@gmail.com :)

How do I, or my organization, qualify for free board games and puzzles?
Right now, your organization has to be located in the Chicagoland area or the South Suburbs. We're a very small organization with very few volunteers so we can't service anyone outside of our range yet. We're hoping to expand our network soon to service more places! Your organization must also have a valid website and/or facility that we can visit to drop things off at. We do not drop anything off at private residences.

How can I receive board games and puzzles for free if I qualify?
Right now, emailing us is the fastest way to get into our program. You can email us at marjiew@gmail.com and please type into the subject line "Organization for the Puzzle Project" - that way we will see it quicker. Just let us know where you are and what you need, and we'll go from there!

What kind of games and puzzles do you donate?
We try to donate gently used or new in box games that we find at our local second-hand stores. You'd be surprised at how many brand new games are sitting in thrift stores! We would never donate anything that we wouldn't use ourselves.

What do you do with the puzzles and board games missing pieces?
We have an inventory of our puzzles and games that are missing pieces. We try to locate other board games or the same puzzles and make them whole again, that way nothing is wasted. We'll also donate a second set of "extra"  pieces to an already complete game just in case the original pieces get lost. (For example, we'll donate some extra checkers to an already complete set of Connect Four because one of our sets was incomplete or broken.)

How can I get involved?
Do you like puzzles? Board games? Do you have an excess amount of either and live in Chicago? Perfect! We take donations of both. While we prefer to know if the puzzles and games are complete, we can also do them for you. We kindly ask that you refrain from buying new board games at stores, simply because we are trying to use what is already out there. (We will, however, take new items that you found at second-hand stores or have in your possession.) You can also volunteer your time to do drop offs, host puzzle parties (yes they exist and yes I just made them up), send us photos of your complete puzzles (for the blog!), spread the word and shop our etsy store!

Where do you receive the funds for the Puzzle Project?
The Puzzle Project is completely funded on our own money and from selling puzzles and games online.
